We are seeking an experienced Sanitation Supervisor to join our team at a leading Frozen Novelties Manufacturing facility in Phoenix, AZ. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the sanitation operations of our production facility, ensuring that all areas meet strict cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety standards. This role will focus on managing a sanitation team to ensure the facility operates in compliance with industry regulations and maintains the highest level of cleanliness for optimal product safety.
This position is for the 1st shift, and the starting salary is a minimum of $60, 000 annually, with room for growth based on experience and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Sanitation Operations Management:
Lead and manage the daily sanitation operations within the facility, ensuring all production areas, equipment, and tools are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized in compliance with food safety standards (FDA, USDA, HACCP, etc.).
Team Supervision and Training:
Supervise and direct a team of sanitation workers, providing training on proper cleaning methods, safety protocols, and food safety regulations. Foster a positive and efficient work environment by monitoring team performance and offering guidance as needed.
Compliance with Food Safety and Quality Standards:
Ensure the sanitation program aligns with all local, state, and federal food safety regulations, including HACCP, GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), and safety compliance. Oversee sanitation audits and inspections, and take corrective actions as required.
Schedule Coordination:
Develop and manage sanitation schedules to ensure all production areas are cleaned between shifts and after production runs. Work closely with production and maintenance teams to ensure timely and thorough cleaning without disrupting production.
Sanitation Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities, including sanitation logs, inspection reports, and any corrective actions taken. Ensure documentation is up-to-date and readily available for internal and external audits.
Inventory and Equipment Management:
Oversee the inventory of cleaning supplies and chemicals, ensuring that all necessary materials are stocked and meet safety standards. Monitor the condition of cleaning equipment, coordinating repairs and replacements as needed.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify areas for improvement in sanitation procedures and make recommendations to increase efficiency, reduce downtime, and enhance the overall cleanliness of the facility. Work with management to implement improvements in sanitation practices and technology.
Safety Compliance:
Ensure that sanitation practices comply with safety standards, including the safe use and handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment. Conduct regular safety training sessions for the sanitation team to prevent accidents and injuries.

o Minimum of 3 years of experience in a sanitation or cleaning role within a food manufacturing environment, preferably in frozen food production or similar industries.
o At least 1 year of experience in a supervisory or leadership position.
Knowledge & Skills:
o Knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation standards, including HACCP, GMPs, and OSHA guidelines.
o Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a team of sanitation workers.
o Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for training, reporting, and coordinating with cross-functional teams.
o Ability to assess sanitation needs and implement solutions in a timely and effective manner.
o Basic computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office and sanitation software.
Education:
o High school diploma or equivalent required.
o Certification in food safety, sanitation, or a related field is a plus (e.G., ServSafe, HACCP).
Physical Requirements:
o Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. And stand or walk for extended periods.
o Ability to work in cold or refrigerated environments.
o Ability to work with cleaning chemicals and equipment safely.
