Job Description
York Employment is hiring a Parts Manager for a leading transportation company in Sacramento! The Parts Manager will supervise and direct all sales activity (front/back counter, outside), shipping, receiving, inventory control, purchasing, and distribution of truck parts and accessories to customers while achieving company expectations for sales volume and profitability.
Job Description:
Management-related:
- Achieve budgeted goals for sales volume, gross margin, inventory shrink and department profitability.
- Actively manage the outside sales team and counter staff to create sales opportunities.
- Make periodic customer visits and partner with Outside Sales Teams when appropriate.
- Conduct meetings with the Back Counter to review production, participate in weekly Manager s meetings, and participate in off-site meetings when requested.
- Utilize existing tools to maintain an appropriate and efficient part inventory in accordance
with approved cost controls.
- Monitor and control slow and non-moving stock levels (Aged Inventory) within company guidelines.
- Manage risk relating to quality, cost, delivery, and supply of purchases
- Review part costs and control retail part pricing.
- Support all part warranty functions and complete warranty tasks in a timely manner.
- Participate in trade shows, open houses, and other industry events.
- Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions and monitor, train, and enforce these within the Parts Team.
- Conform to all safety rules and use of appropriate safety equipment.
- Lead with the company core values in mind.
- All other duties assigned
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position, and regular hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8 A.M. To 5 P.M.
Travel
Periodic overnight travel required to attend trade shows, customer meetings, OEM sales meetings, and Inventory at other locations

Education/Experience:
- 5 years related experience in Retail Parts Management, preferably heavy truck & school bus
- Equivalent combination of education and experience with proven results
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor s Degree in Business Administration, Economics, or Finance is preferred but, not required.
- 7+ years related experience in Retail Management where the core customer base are other businesses
(B2B Sales)
- 5 years related experience in Retail Parts Management, preferably heavy truck & school bus
- Equivalent combination of education and experience with proven results
