Maintenance Technician

Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing equipment by conducting preventative maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and repairing mechanical and electrical systems, including PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers). The Maintenance Mechanic will play a crucial role in minimizing downtime, optimizing equipment performance, and ensuring the safety and efficiency of our facility.
Responsibilities:
Perform Preventative Maintenance:
Conduct regular inspections and maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment to prevent breakdowns and prolong their lifespan.
Follow maintenance schedules and checklists to ensure all equipment is properly serviced.
Identify and address potential issues before they escalate into major problems.
Troubleshoot Equipment Malfunctions:
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and PLC-related problems through the use of diagnostic tools, schematics, and manuals.
Quickly and efficiently troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime and production disruptions.
Collaborate with other team members to identify root causes of problems and implement effective solutions.
Repair and Replace Components:
Perform mechanical repairs, such as replacing worn or defective parts, bearings, belts, and gears.
Repair electrical components, including wiring, switches, sensors, and motors.
Program, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC systems to ensure proper functionality and integration with equipment.
Maintain Documentation:
Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and parts inventory.
Document procedures, manuals, and schematics for reference and training purposes.
Update maintenance logs and databases to track equipment history and performance.
Ensure Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while performing maintenance activities.
Identify and address potential safety hazards to maintain a safe working environment.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to equipment maintenance and operation.
Provide Training and Support:
Train and mentor junior maintenance staff on proper maintenance procedures and techniques.
Provide technical support and assistance to production personnel as needed.
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to implement process improvements and equipment modifications.

High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in mechanical or electrical engineering preferred.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, with a focus on preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and PLCs.
Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical power transmission systems.
Proficiency in reading electrical schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals.
Experience with PLC programming, troubleshooting, and ladder logic.
Familiarity with industrial automation systems, such as HMI (Human-Machine Interface) and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition).
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to emergency maintenance situations as needed.
