Job Description
York Employment is hiring a Receptionist for an office furniture distribution company in Ontario, CA. Please review the description and apply if this is a great fit for you.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Retrieve messages from voice mail and forwards to appropriate personnel.
Answers incoming telephone calls, determines of callers, and forwards calls to appropriate personnel or department.
Takes and delivers messages or transfers calls to voice mail when appropriate personnel are unavailable.
Answers questions about organization and provides callers with address, directions and other information.
Welcomes on-site visitors, determines nature of business, and announces visitors to appropriate personnel.
Monitors visitor access, logs and issues passes when required.
Responsible for Announcement Board when guest are visiting the company.
Assists with the sorting and distributing of mail and small packages.
Maintains master copies of job applications and distributes to applicants as requested (English & Spanish).
Responsible for applicant flow log and delivering applications to Human Resources.
Assist with general administrative projects or duties for the entire company with an emphasis on attention to detail and thorough completion of the assigned project. Prioritize projects based on deadline and importance.
Contact the appropriate individuals in the event the lobby and/or front office area needs to be cleaned.
Unlock and lock front door during beginning and end of business hours.
Mail out account statements.
Perform other clerical duties as needed.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Bilingual English and Spanish is preferred.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10 s and 100 s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software.
Other Skills and Abilities
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
