Under minimal supervision to ensure all facilities comply with OSHA and Cal - OSHA regulations, and other government health, safety, and environmental agencies such as the EPA, AQMD, and the SCAQMD.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned);
Responsibilities
" Understanding and complying with Air, Water, Waste and Materials Shipping, Chemical, and General Environmental controls as applicable to the company.
" Understanding and complying with OSHA and Cal-OSHA regulations as applicable to the company.
" Understanding and complying with EPA. AQMD, and SCAQMD regulations as applicable to the company agencies regarding environment, health, and safety as applicable to the company.
" Understanding and complying with customer and other local, state, federal, and international regulatory agencies regarding environment, health, and safety as applicable to the company.
" Understanding and complying with US Dot and IATA regulations for shipping Dangerous Goods.
" Understanding the operation of the company's IBM PC computer system and its software.
" Understanding and complying with common acceptable business practices for running an office.
" Understanding and complying with all company policies and procedures and specifically those regarding environmental health and safety.

Duties
" Creates and enforces company-wide and site-specific Health and Safety Policy to ensure regulatory compliance
" Maintains MSDS files
" Obtains and maintains require permits related to environment, health, and safety
" Performs Accident Reporting Investigation and Follow-Up
" Preforms Health and Safety Training, conducts required safety meetings, and coordinates for external training sources as needed.
" Performs Health and Safety Housekeeping Inspections
" Manages Air, Water, Waste, Waste and Materials Shipping, Chemical, and General Environmental Controls.
" Performs Contractor Safety assessments and manages Contractor Safety when required.
" Performs site and job Safety Assessments and coordinates completion of successful corrective actions.
" Establish and maintain required files and records.
" Follows instructions of superiors and advises them of difficulties or deficiencies that may prevent the timely completion of duties.

Education/Experience:
High school diploma requires, two years degree preferred or related training/education and experience. Strong verbal and oral communication and organizational skills. Strong PC skills with word processing, spreadsheets, and graphs.
