Job Description

Summary Ensure the effective functioning of company facilities to provide an efficient and safe working environment for employees and their activities by using best practices to manage resources, services, and processes to meet the needs of the company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develops and implements a facility management program including preventative maintenance and life-cycle requirements.
Conducts and documents regular facilities inspections.
Ensures compliance with health and safety standards and industry codes as well as any applicable licenses or compliances certificates be kept active and current.
Coordinates inter-office moves.
Supervises maintenance and repair of facilities and equipment.
Oversees facility refurbishment and renovations.
Plans and manages facility central services such as reception, security, cleaning, waste disposal, and parking.
Implements best practice processes to increase efficiency.
Obtains quotes and tenders from vendors and suppliers.
Manages contractor and vendor relationships including local, state, and federal agents and compliance.
Manages and review service contracts to ensure facility management needs are being met.
Ensures delivery schedules, quantity, and quality criteria are met.
Allocates and manages facility space for maximum efficiency.
Checks completed work by contractors and vendors.
Verifies payment and invoicing match contract pricing.
Prepares and tracks facility budget, monitor expenses and payments.
Advises on and monitors energy efficiency.
Oversees environmental health and safety.
Assures security of the facilities.
Responds to facility and equipment alarms and system failures.
Provides prompt response to requests and issues from facility occupants.
Calculates and compares costs for goods and services to maximize cost- effectiveness

Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises one or two employee(s) in the Facilities department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; 5 years related experience and/or training such as project management, business or construction management; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Working knowledge of project management, business administration.
Working knowledge of procurement and contracts.
Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
Supervisory experience preferred.
Sound knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations required.
