Distribution Center Manager




Seeking a Distribution Center Manager to manage our main facility located in Ontario California.

Position Overview:
The Distribution Center Manager will be responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership of Distribution Center located in Ontario California.

This role will ensure the effective and efficient management and operation of the Centre including sales orders receiving and fulfilment, finished goods, raw materials and samples inventory management, freight, storage and distribution through the implementation of new and optimization the current resources and processes while achieving and maintaining key safety, quality, cost and delivery targets.

The Distribution Center Manager will drive the development, implementation and operation of key processes and managing and leading staff to ensure products are supplied to customers within the agreed timeframe and in compliance with company policies and procedures.

The Distribution Center Manager will lead employee initiatives to create and promote an environment where team members are involved, empowered and committed to the success of our business.

Essential Responsibilities:
Implement and manage a measureable DIFOT system
Improved On time deliveries (DIFOT) to 90% within 6 months
Manage the internal sales and customer management function
Manage sampling stock levels, ensuring sample inventory is current and readily available for distribution to customers, based on the FIFO principle
Managing sample production to ensure samples are in pristine condition and always at the agreed stock levels
Ensuring inventory is at the agreed levels in good order
Ensure operational staff are adequately trained and skilled in the order taking, picking, packing and shipping of the products

The successful candidate will possess the following key attributes:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability and experience in communicating and working with lower level staff and upper level management, customers and suppliers
Well developed negotiation skills
Ability to establish a work environment that reflects and operates on the principals of values
Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and decision making skills with a proven ability to drive results
Ability to operate within tight deadlines with multiple priorities that are subject to frequent changes
Experience with Warehouse Management Systems
Experience with Transportation Management Systems
An understanding of logistics and carrier performance to drive improvements in service to our customers and overall freight spend

Basic Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years supply chain, logistics or distribution centre experience
Minimum 3 years supervisory experience

Preferred Qualifications:
Lean Certified
Bachelor s Degree from an accredited institution is preferred
Quality Systems/ISO certification experience
