Summary The Database Administrator I is responsible for applying intermediate knowledge, skills, and experience in database server administration and database object development, deployment and maintenance in a MS SQL Server environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

Develops and maintains T-SQL and SQL-CLR code objects (stored procedures, triggers, etc.) that support OSP's internal and mission-critical external applications.

Mentors application developer's T-SQL skills.

Maintains and troubleshoot existing backup, replication and distributed data processes.

Develops and maintains SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services) reports, data sets and data sources.

Develops and maintains SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) integration packages.

Analyzes performance bottlenecks and provides appropriate solutions.

Monitors system and application performance, and tunes applications.

Participates in IT system project planning.

Assists with duties and tasks as needed and/or requested by management.
Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

One year experience performing technical analysis.

Knowledge of client/server, web and web service environments.
Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server administration and support.
Knowledge of both structured and object oriented software development life cycle methodologies.
Knowledge of database server clustering.

Education and/or Experience

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or minimum of two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
